# Opportunities

I'm interested in hearing from students and early-career researchers excited about machine learning and AI, nitrogen cycling, and ocean biogeochemistry.

## Undergraduates and master's students

I currently have funding to hire current undergraduates or master's students on a one-semester (or summer) basis, to work on bringing cutting edge methods in data science to ocean chemistry. Please email me at [clk2136@columbia.edu](mailto:clk2136@columbia.edu) with a short note about your background and interests, plus a CV, if you are interested in working together.

Summer and term-time research projects may also be available through Lamont-Doherty and Columbia programs. This page will be updated with specific opportunities. <!-- TODO: link specific programs, e.g. the Lamont Summer Intern Program -->

## Graduate students

I do not currently have funding to support a full-time graduate student, but I am happy to support fellowship applications. Prospective Ph.D. students should apply through Columbia's Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences. Please reach out before applying so we can talk about possible projects.

## Postdocs

Postdoctoral positions are advertised here when funding is available. I'm also happy to support applications to independent fellowships:
- [Lamont postdoc fellowship](https://lamont.columbia.edu/about/postdoctoral-fellowships)
- [Columbia Climate School postdoc fellowship](https://www.climate.columbia.edu/postdoctoral-research-program)
